Review nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns. We will start more capitalization, and punctuation.
Language Arts
Review the sounds of /oo/, /ow/, long o, /aw/, /au/, /n/ spelled kn, comparatives, /oi/ spelled oi & oy, /r/ spelled wr, and /f/ spelled ph. We will complete all of our decodable books by the end of the month. In class we will be reading from a book (Open Court) that will stay in the classroom. The focus will be on comprehension for the rest of the year. First grade students should be reading at least 50-60 words per minute by the end of the 3rd quarter. Keep reading at home every night.
