From Christina Clem, M.Ed., Principal

Dust off those St. Elizabeth yard signs!  Spring is here, and registration is underway!  Registration for the 2012-2013 school year is currently underway for both returning as well as new students, with March 31st as the deadline to take advantage of the lower $350 registration fee for returning students.  After that time, registration for all families will increase to $400 per student.  ***(Please note that we will not be able to make any exceptions as plans for classes and staffing need to be determined at this time.)

Parents wishing to apply for financial assistance for the 2012-2013 school year must first register and then apply online through FACTS Grand & Aid prior to April 1st.  Please feel free to contact me or our school office if you have any questions or need help in applying for assistance.

Our parents are our strongest recruiters and our greatest source of advertising!  We have had a number of new families tour our school and register for the new school year, thanks to the positive testimonials of many of our current families!!!  We would like to continue giving new family tours and showing off what an awesome school we have and what a wonderful education we provide our children.!  As an extra added incentive, we would like to offer our own returning families a chance to win one free registration for your family.  Any registered returning family who refers another family to register and successfully enroll for the 2012-2013 school year, will receive one chance, per “registree”, in a drawing to be held at the Back To School Rally in August 2012.  The winner of each drawing will receive a refund of one registration fee.   There will be one drawing perevery 10 new students, referred by a current family, that we register prior to the first day of school.

Please join me in congratulating our 8th grade young ladies and gentlemen who received the sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday, February 11th, and also our 2nd grade angels who received the sacrament of First Reconciliation this past Saturday, March 3rd.  Please keep these students in your prayers as they continue along their journey of Faith!

I would like to once again thank all of our families for your support of this year’s World’s Finest Chocolate Sale!  This year’s sale was the most successful one yet!  I’d like to thank Sandy Walkley and Michele Mills and also our 8th grade class for their leadership of this project!

I also wish to thank everyone who helped to make this year’s Catholic Schools Week the most amazing one ever!  Hopefully, by now you have checked out the awesome montage of pictures that are posted on the front page of our website, www.saintspride.com.

During the CSW Awards Assembly, the following parents were recognized with an engraved paperweight  for their outstanding contributions to St. Elizabeth School over the past year:  Mrs. Laura Kubin , Mrs. Delia Aillon , Mrs. Catherine Thompson, Mr. Russell Jones, and Mrs. Linda Armijo.

Mrs. Estella Martinez received the prestigious St. Elizabeth Volunteer of the Year Award 2012 for her many years of commitment, dedication and outstanding service in many areas of our school life, including our health clinic!  Congratulations, Estella!

Last, but not least, please congratulate Mrs. Rosa Barrientos, our fantastic Spanish teacher!  She is a dynamic teacher who is so very deserving and worthy of the title of this year’s St. Elizabeth of Hungary Teacher of the Year!

I hope that each of you has a safe, fun-filled, and relaxing Spring Break with your families.  There will be more new exciting school experiences to look forward to once we return from the break!  Let us continue to pray for one another and for the needs of our community!

Sincerely,

Christina Clem, M.Ed.
